AI Purohit Privacy Policy

AI Purohit ("the app") is a Bengali/Hindu Panjika (Panchang) and AI-purohit app published by Surajit Roy. This policy explains what the app does — and does not — do with your information.

The short version: there is no login and no account. The app never asks for your name, email, phone number, or any government or financial ID, and it does not build a profile of you. The Panjika, calendar, festivals, muhurat timings, reminders and home-screen widget all run entirely on your device and work with no network at all. Only two things talk to a server: the AI chat, and the Mudra balance that meters it.

What Stays On Your Device

Your chosen city and calculation settings, your saved dates, your reminder preferences, your rashi (if you pick one), and every Panchang value the app computes. None of this is transmitted anywhere. The astronomical engine runs locally, so the app is fully usable offline.

The Anonymous Device ID

The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier (a UUID). It is not derived from your hardware, phone number, advertising ID, or any personal detail, and it is not linked to your identity. It is sent to the server for one purpose: to hold your Mudra balance — the in-app credit that meters AI questions — and to apply fair-use limits that prevent abuse. If you clear the app's data, a new ID is generated and the previous balance cannot be recovered.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device location to compute an accurate Panchang for where you are — sunrise, sunset, tithi and the timings that depend on them. This computation happens entirely on your device. Your GPS coordinates are never sent to or stored on the server. You can deny or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings; the app then falls back to a default city, and says so on screen.

AI Chat Messages

When you ask the AI purohit a question, the app sends your typed question and the computed almanac context for that day — the date, timezone and Panchang values for your selected place — to the server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply. This happens only to answer your question. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in chat messages. Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.

What This App Does Not Do

There are no advertising SDKs and no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties for advertising, and no advertising profile is built. Rewarded ads and an optional subscription are planned for a later release; if and when they ship, this policy and the Play Data Safety declaration will both be updated before that release, not after.

Data Sharing

Google, via the Gemini API, receives AI-chat requests as described above in order to generate replies. Google Play Services is involved as required for app distribution, and later for billing. Nothing else is shared with anyone.

Data Retention and Deletion

The only record held on the server is the anonymous wallet: the device ID, its Mudra balance, and fair-use counters. There is no name, email or location in it. You can delete it at any time from the app: Settings → Delete my data. That erases the wallet and its history from the server permanently and immediately; the app then behaves as a fresh install. Clearing the app's data from Android settings also detaches you from the old wallet, though it leaves the anonymous record on the server until it is deleted.

Astrological and Traditional Content

AI Purohit presents Panchang calculations, muhurat timings, রাশিফল and festival information drawn from traditional almanac sources. Where a timing follows a traditional convention rather than a purely astronomical calculation, the app labels it as such. This content is offered for cultural and traditional guidance. It is not professional medical, legal or financial advice, and decisions you make remain your own.

Children

AI Purohit is a general-audience almanac. It is not directed at children under 13, and no personal information is knowingly collected from anyone, of any age.

Security

All traffic to the server uses HTTPS. Server configuration and API keys are held outside the public web root and are never shipped in the app. The strongest protection here is structural: because no personal data is collected, there is none to leak.

Changes

This policy will be updated as the app evolves, and the date shown above will be revised when that happens.
